My Haircare Routine | Hair Wash Day

I’ve shared my haircare routine on Instagram several times and had quite a few questions about the products I use. I realized that I’ve never shared a full blog post about it, that’s what I’m here for today!

The hair wash day occurs once a week, sometimes twice if I have done something like sweating or put a lot of extra product on it. With my extensions, it takes me about an hour to shower, wash my hair, dry, and comb my hair. Not bad, given all the steps and the amount of hair.

Brushing: I brush my hair with a bristle brush before I get into the shower, it helps loosen the knots and therefore I have less when I get out of the shower.

Brushing: I brush my hair with a bristle brush before I get into the shower, it helps loosen the knots and therefore I have less when I get out of the shower.

Shampoo: most days I use Fanola Nutri Care shampoo: I come and go with shampoos: I use Head & Shoulders only on the root some days, other days I use Moroccanoil shampoo / conditioner etc. It all depends on how I feel.

Blue / Purple Mask / Conditioner: In any other wash, I use Fanola No Yellow and / or No Orange Conditioner to tone blonde in my hair. These work like a charm! No Yellow eliminates yellow / copper tones and no orange eliminates red, orange and copper tones.

Conditioner: I normally use Fanola Nutri Care conditioner as a regular conditioner, but for a mask, I use the Activated Bamboo Charcoal and Purple Moonstone Butter mask from Not Your Mother and leave it on for 5-10 minutes.

Leave-in conditioner: I go back and forth between these two Ouai, not your mother’s royal honey and the Kalahari desert melon

Volume: The DryBar Southern Belle Volume Boosting Root Lifter is excellent for helping with volume. Use it on damp hair.

Hair Oil: I have been using Fanola Nutri-Care Hair Restructuring Crystals on the tips of my natural hair to help repair and strengthen it. It also smells like Jolly Rancher! đŸ˜‰

Thermal protector: Don’t forget the thermal protector when using hot tools, including dryers. I use a few different products, but for years the CHI 44 Iron Guard Thermal Protection Spray has been my number one choice.

Dryer with dryer: I dry my hair about 75% with my T3 Cura hair dryer.

Bang at Home: Then I walk in with my Revlon hair tool to give myself a bang at home. I shared a full video about a year ago on how to use this tool HERE.

Tease: I end up teasing my roots a bit.
That completes my laundry day routine. Some days I will go straight in with my hot tools and curl my hair, or leave it straight for a day or two. If you have any questions about hair products please let me know in the comments below.
